We all have one... a treasured quilt top that a loved family member made, but maybe never finished. Or maybe you took a quilting class and never got the chance to finish your project. Let me help!
You know what colors and quilt pattern you want, but can't find anything close in department stores? Or perhaps you want to design a quilt for that special room or friend? I can help you through the wonderful and exciting process!
After having received several quilting awards in National, State and local competitions, rest assured my quilts and quilt tops are made with quality materials, perfectly pieced and beautifully quilted!
Many times our treasured quilts that were used and loved by many are simple too worn to be repaired. But other times, all that is needed is a little skill, craftmanship and loving care to restore these family heirlooms. If you have a quilt that needs restoration, let's talk and see what can be done!
My passion is restoring heirloom quilts to their former status. A few lose stitches or a block recreated and incorporated can bring new life to vintage quilt.
I find joy in finishing and quilting a quilt top or quilt blocks that a family member or friend simply never had time to finish.
Along with restoration, rescue and finishing, my love for quilting extendes to all venues. Designing and making quilts, the whole process from cutting materials to piecing the blocks, and seeing the joy in peoples faces when they are received never gets old!
Size doesn't matter. I love combining patterns with fabrics and colors to obtain just the right balance. Once quilted, all my quilts will have the unmistakeable "crinkle" of quality fabric and batting.
Many times I will finish a top, and due to other demands decide not to finish it. Many of my quality, precision-pieced blocks suffer the same fate. I offer these beauties to those out there who may need a "shortcut" or simply don't have the time to create a quilt from scratch.
It amazes me that macines can make quick work of the hand embroidery our ancesters took weeks and months to create. My emboidery machine and I create embroidered blocks and assemble quilts that very closely resemble vintage quilts of yesteryear.
Looking for modern or vintage embroidery? I offer both including antiques designs, as well as modern monograms, adult, baby and juvenile patterns.
Several of my lap quilts, baby quilts and table runners have proved so popular that I have assembled kits, so others can make these beauties at home and add their own special touches.
Who doesn't need a little moral support from time to time. I offer classes during the year making simple and meaningful quilted gift items. I hope you'll join me. My schedule will be released in the Fall.
I will be attending several local farmer's markets, craft and holiday shows throughout the year. Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to find out where I'll be next.
Custom place mats, a flannel throw for a man cave, a unique color combination to complete a nursery? I never turn down the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind quilted items!
I would love to visit with you about your next custom sewn quilt!
